If Kids in the Hall helped define Canadian comedy, than Victoria’s nomeansno can be seen as the forerunners of the west coast punk scene. Along with bands like Winnipeg’s Personality Crisis, Vancouver’s DOA and Edmonton’s SNFU, nomeansno helped forged North America’s punk circuit, spending countless hours on the highway crammed in a van crisscrossing the continent playing small clubs, rambunctious basement shows and all-ages venues like VA Halls and community clubs.
